The cashiers are excellent and have been helpful. Overt eye contact with the clipboard lady @_the front. I don't want to use a machine, The hurry agenda

Transferred in 2016 after 40-plus years with the spivs at Barclays and have no regrets except that I stayed with Barclays for so long. This branch of Nationwide is excellent, the staff are courteous and knowledgeable, and the bank seems to be efficient, honest and well-run.

Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. Dental Surgeries

Exeter Advanced Dentistry

54 Longbrook St, Exeter EX4 6AH, UK – 01392 202007

Exeter Advanced Dentistry has raised the bar for dentistry worldwide and patients alike – from world class to well, Extreme. Every member of staff in the practice are highly skilled professionals, passionate about their individual work and equally passionate about their patients all round Dental Health Care, hence the dedicated All Round Team/Patient Approach. You may be concerned and interested for your own dentistry health care, - meet the team who are perhaps more so! For truly special, exceptional attention, to address every aspect of treatment, I highly recommend this practice. The coffee is good too!

There is absolutely nothing I could criticise at Exeter Advanced Dentistry. Incredible service right through from initial contact to leaving the building. The level of skill of my dentist was different to any that I had experienced before. I had a really tricky root canal but I hardly noticed a thing!! Dan talked me through every step, reassuring me that he was in control of the procedure, all the way through, and always with a big smile. He exuded positivity! I thought the stage by stage photos was were a brilliant idea. I felt that i was able to understand exactly WHY Dan had completed the work in a certain way and left me with absolute confidence that he was doing the best possible job for me. His assistant was incredible too, seeming to know precisely what Dan needed a second before he requested it! Telepathic and clearly very highly skilled. A faultless service. Thank you!!

Barnfield Dental Studio

10A Barnfield Hill, Exeter EX1 1SR, UK – 01392 423668

Fab dentist. Lovely staff, especially the hygienist (can't remember his name 🙄 the young guy from Cornwall). Highly recommended x

I've been a patient here for about four years. When I first went, I had a huge amount of anxiety, from previous bad experiences with other dentists. I feel very safe, well looked after, everything is explained, and I feel completely in control of what happens. And it's always been pain free. I would highly recommend Barnfield.

Inspired Dental Care

246 High St, Exeter EX4 3PZ, UK – 01392 272385

My experience of Inspired Dental Care was excellent. I was actually pretty nervous when I came in for my treatment, but was looked after with calm reassurance. Not only technically very good, Andre has a manner which puts you at ease. Certainly the best dental experience I've ever had

My invisalign treatment which I am currently receiving at Inspired Dental Care is absolutely impeccable. Andre and the team are highly professional and efficient.

My growing family have been using this surgery for 9 years. Dr Barada is a wonderful doctor, he doesn't give out unnecessary prescriptions which is great to see. Will give helpful advice and will happily see anyone more than once if symptoms persist. From diagnosis to operations my family have had a lovely experience with this surgery. Reception are helpful and friendly. Surgery itself is a little dated but you don't go there for the decor.

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

Always a space, no long queues. Staff very helpful and friendly. Nothing too much trouble.

This recycling centre is an example to all other centres . Not only is it clean and tidy but the staff are so helpful and pleasant. What a difference from Exmouth! I think they should retrain at Pinbrook. Many thanks.

ECC Recycling Centre

Oakwood House, Exton Rd, Exeter EX2 8NR, UK – 0345 155 1004

Health and safety awareness , polite and knowledgeable, helpfull and more than capable to keep up with demands in industry

Certainly better now than ten years ago, staff are more helpful yet under more pressure in this PC and H&S society, the arrangement of waste types is good, sometimes have to ask where to put something and once I wasn't able to drop my waste (domestic) when the bin men missed my house one week. [ had to find alternative method]

Devon Contract Waste Ltd

Enviro Hub, Marsh Barton Rd, Exeter EX2 8NU, UK – 01392 361300

Great company with a great attitude. Nothings ever to much trouble. Great regular collections and most importantly, every is zero to landfill. Take over from previous supplier was effortless and we now have a long standing commitment with them to divert all waste from landfill. Keep it up.👍🏻

Fantastic prices and never fail to turn up, we have been using DCW since November and wouldn't look back. The guys are always friendly and are happy whatever your request. Fantastic Service. Richard Goodman

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Exeter

Pasha

80 South St, Exeter EX1 1EQ, UK – 01392 279464

As a previous visit, this was five stars. Very welcoming and friendly / good humoured staff. Food: just wonderful. So very tasty and good portion sizes. The four of us really enjoyed our evening here and will return again.

Had lunch here. Staff is very welcoming. They do have a lunch menu, starter & main course for a very reasonable price. Food is excellent, portions are very good. Very good selection of wines. I very much enjoyed this place.

Harry's Restaurant

86 Longbrook St, Exeter EX4 6AP, UK – 01392 202234

Given Exeter's abundance of well-heeled students and affluent second-home owners, it's surprisingly short on good independent restaurants. Thankfully, Harry's is there to fill the gap. I understand it started as a burger place, but the menu now runs to a range of good, local steaks, pasta dishes and (slightly unexpectedly) Mexican fare. But it's all well done, so more power to them. It's well priced for what it is. A few posters here note that the steaks aren't cheap, but they are competitively priced. If you don't want to spend a lot get an excellent burger rather than a fillet steak! The place itself is pleasant and the staff have always been very helpful in my experience. Do book though - it's a very popular place and if you turn up without a booking you are not likely to get a table. In fact, book early, because twice now I've called a few days ahead and found there are no tables left.

Couldn't recommend Harry's enough. It's nice and warm inside whilst being I'm a history building near the centre of Exeter. It's only a 5 minute walk from Exeter Central train station and there is a car park less than a 100m away that is free after 6pm. It has a nice warm and cosy atmosphere inside that works well with the food they serve. They have a great selection of steaks as well as other heart warming food. They also have a good complementary wine selection. The staff are excellent and welcoming. The food is amazing and couldn't recommend the steaks enough.

Al-Farid

3 Cathedral Yard, Exeter EX1 1HJ, UK – 01392 494444

The food was good and halal. Presentation was nice too. It is not like London where you get free olives and pickles. They charge you for everything they serve. A bit pricey but good selection.

Great food and a unique atmosphere. I've eaten in and ordered takeaway (via a delivery service) from here. Both were delicious and filling. The only draw back is that the seating/tables are limited.
